Rhonda is a Clinical Psychologist who provides individual therapy for adults. She is a warm, pragmatic practitioner who communicates in a gentle and non-judgemental way to help her clients feel stronger, more optimistic, and that change is possible. Prior to her career in psychology, she worked in the government sector in community-based health promotion and prevention of lifestyle diseases, including helping smokers to quit.
Rhonda works with people who are undergoing life transitions (including peri-menopause and menopause), who experience self-criticism and shame, overweight and obesity concerns, and those interested in managing stress and improving work-life balance. She also works with adults experiencing depression, adjustment disorders, anxiety (including panic attacks, social anxiety, and worry), grief and loss, self-esteem issues, and alcohol and drug use problems. She has a longstanding interest in mindfulness and contemplative practices and primarily works from a compassion- based therapy framework.
Rhonda has experience and training in a range of evidence-based treatments including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT), Motivational Interviewing and mindfulness-based therapies.
Rhonda consults at The Work Well on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays. Please call reception to arrange an appointment.
