ELIZABETH PENROSE

Elizabeth Penrose is a Clinical Psychologist. She aims to create a warm and empathic therapeutic space. Elizabeth engages respectfully and collaboratively with her clients to gently explore their presenting concerns. Within this relationship, Elizabeth works with clients to develop insight and form an understanding of the impact of early experiences and relationships in the development of longstanding patterns of thoughts, feelings and behaviours. Elizabeth’s approach is informed by Attachment Theory, and she takes a psychodynamic-oriented perspective. She draws on a range of modalities including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy. 

Elizabeth’s experience includes private practice, community health service, public community mental health, private hospital inpatient and outpatient settings. Most recently, she has worked within private practice as well as an Early Intervention Clinician for Child Health Service supporting parents and families. She is trained in Circle of Security Parenting Program. Elizabeth has tutored students at Queensland University of Technology in the area of communication, formulation and treatment planning. 

Elizabeth has experience working with a range of presentations including anxiety and depression, stress and burnout, grief and loss, family of origin issues, perinatal difficulties including parent and infant relationship, adjustment to life stressors, promoting wellbeing, and relationship issues
