Louise provides assessments for children, adolescents and adults for ADHD, autism, learning difficulties, cognitive and behavioural functioning, school readiness and medico-legal.
Louise has a special interest in neurocognitive disorders and conducting psychometric assessments for psychosocial, developmental, cognitive and behavioural concerns. She combines assessment results with information from clients, family, schools, and work to provide tailored recommendations and strategies to best support clients and their families. Her experience also extends to supporting individuals in professional and educational development by assessing abilities and conducting achievement testing to allow people to reach their full potential. Louise has experience providing reports to assist with hearings at the Mental Health Review Tribunal and the Administrative Appeals Tribunal.
Louise is experienced working with children, adolescents and adults to help them achieve their goals and improve their wellbeing. Louise uses a range of evidence-based therapies, including trauma informed practice, narrative therapy, cognitive behaviour therapy, attachment theory and motivational interviewing to help clients towards therapeutic outcomes. She particularly enjoys using animal assisted therapy with clients to build trust and draw on their strengths.
Louise is a Credentialed Eating Disorder Clinician under the national credentialing system for mental health and dietetic eating disorder treatment. She has a keen interest in helping individuals and families impacted by eating disorders and is trained in family-based therapy and cognitive behaviour therapy for this purpose. Louise uses these therapeutic approaches together with equine assisted therapy to help clients with improved health and wellbeing.
Louise is trained in Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR) Therapy to help clients to process traumatic memories and life experiences causing emotional distress. This can assist clients to process information, reduce emotional distress and develop new insights.
Louise has experience supporting diverse client populations treating a range of mental health disorders and disabilities across community and workplace settings, including complex presentations, dual diagnosis and substance use.
Louise is also a NDIS Specialist Behaviour Support Practitioner (Advanced) and has experience developing and implementing positive behaviour support plans as well as completing assessments and reports to assist clients in accessing NDIS supports.
Louise’s warm and professional approach, and respect for individual differences enables her to build safe and trusting therapeutic relationships with clients. Her client focused approach and passion for assisting clients to achieve their self-identified goals, ensures therapy is individually tailored.
