Elaine has had many years of experience with working with people and appreciates the need to have someone truly listen. Our world is often fast and furious, our lives more often than not quite chaotic, and it can be difficult to cope with the many hurdles that are thrown at us, and to find someone who actually offers their help unconditionally. She sees her role as your Counsellor is to walk by your side, to respect the privilege that it is to share your story with you, and to perhaps work with you to help find the way forward. Sometimes it is just an ear that makes the difference.
She has worked for many years in traumatic loss – in particular loss through homicide. This has given her a massive insight into the many facets of loss in general, but in particular, coping with sudden or senseless loss. Her experience also includes working with domestic violence situations, relationship breakdown, anxiety, depression and trauma.
It is often hard finding the right fit in your therapist, but if we look at what you potentially share in therapy, that fit is the most important thing. Her family, her own life and values coupled with her work experience provides a sound foundation. She is a registered member of the Psychotherapy & Counselling Federation of Australia.
She is genuine, empathetic, respectful and non-judgemental, and brings these strengths to each session.
