Julie Lockyer is a registered General Psychologist with 15 years’ experience working in the public sector with students, adult survivors of childhood abuse and trauma, victims of crime as well as in the suicide prevention and bereavement sector. Prior to her career in psychology, Julie was an Architect and retains a keen interest in the built environment and therapeutic space.
As a result of her own life direction change, Julie has a passionate interest in supporting women with the challenges of juggling motherhood, career and primary relationships through all the changes and demands that entails.
Julie has a special interest in post-traumatic growth and resilience, using spiritually integrative therapy to help people find meaning, purpose and growth potential in adverse life events.
Julie is a certified Sandplay and Symbol Work Therapist and in addition to using Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and Body-focused Trauma Therapy, also likes to incorporate her knowledge of the Enneagram Personality Typing system to help clients mobilise their innate strengths and gain profound insights into themselves and others with this powerful tool.
