Safety. Hope. Identity.
Ruth is a Clinical psychologist who has built Quadrant out of her own life experiences including personal experiences of seeking psychological support, at times with mixed results. As a result the values of safety, hope and identity have emerged as the foundations upon which Quadrant has been built, in acknowledgement of these factors as being essential to enable people to feel able to visit the challenges of the past and enable integration and personal growth. Ruth draws upon a range of modalities to support her clients including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Schema Therapy, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing Therapy (EMDR) and Compassion-focused Therapy (CFT). Ruth also has a special interest in the integration of nature with therapy and has her therapy dog Keeva as an integral part of the therapy space. Ruth is a registered provider for DVA and Work Cover Qld.

KEEVA
Hi, I’m Keeva!
Quadrant is proud to be able to provide Animal Assisted Therapy (AAT) to clients, with Ruth’s therapy dog Keeva often being present in the therapeutic space. Keeva (originating from the Irish Gaelic Caoimhe meaning “gentle, beautiful, precious”) is a six-year old Husky / Samoyed cross (Samusky). She is currently completing her AAT training and accreditation through Therapy Dogs Australia and is well known for her excessive amount of fur, her calm demeanour and her tendency to howl greetings to anyone she meets. She demonstrates how dogs can enable a sense of calm in an environment and how this be used to help calm and regulate activated nervous systems. For more information on the benefits of having Keeva in-session please see the AAT tab.
